Intro to Speed Flying
Time & Location
About the Event
This is an intro to speedflying camp. In this camp you will learn how to safely use the gear, weather/conditions to fly, kiting the wing, and launching/landings. After leaving this camp you will have the confidence to go speedfly on your own. This camp is being limited to 6 people so students get quality instruction. Training: You will begin at a training hill where you will practice forward launching and ground handling the wing without being able to take off. Once you have shown that you have the launching techniques needed, we will progress you to our mountain launch. Speed flying is an extreme sport and should always be treated as such. That being said, we feel we have a great beginner mountain site. It is a nice, long, grassy launch with 1250' vertical and large farm fields to land in. We will have a 4 wheel drive vehicle that can haul you and your gear almost all the way to the top for quick laps. Actual instruction will be 5-6 hours each day (weather permitting).
Skills Required: 250 minimum skydives (50 within last year) or P2 USHPA rating
Lodging: Everyone will stay in a nice rental house with their own bed close to the mountain site and plenty of other activities nearby.
Gear: Wing and Harness can be rented during camp. If you would like to buy your own gear prior to or after camp, we are happy to lead you in the right direction.
Food: There is a kitchen at the rental house and restaurants in a town nearby.
Cost: $900 ($400 deposit required at time of booking)
